Secretary of State Madeleine Albright says women have "a few advantages" in the nation's top diplomatic spot, not the least of which is a facility for using makeup.
If a 60 year-old male secretary of state has had a bad day, he has two choices," Denver-reared Albright writes in the August Issue of the online magazine Women of Colorado. "Look like a tired old man or look like a tired old man in makeup. But I have other options." she said.
On a more serious note, she added, "Scientists are saying that women are gentically inclined to be peacemakers, problem-solvers and basically well-adjusted. I'm not sure I believe any of this -- but it could explain why, around the world, there's recently a bit of a boom in the appointment of new women-foreign ministers.
