Ninth Annual First American State Bank Fitness Festival Scheduled for September 12 at Crescent Park

The ninth annual First American State Bank Fitness Festival will be held on Saturday, Sept. 12, 2009 beginning at 7:30 a.m. at Crescent Park in Greenwood Village (Belleview and DTC Boulevard). The Festival includes the Kaiser Permanente 5K run/walk and NEW 1-mile fitness walk, food samplings from thirteen of the top restaurants in the area, entertainment, silent auction, prizes and lots of family fun. This year’s Grand Marshal is former Denver Nugget Bill Hanzlik.

The event benefits the Community Asset Project (CAP), a partner with the Cherry Creek School District. During the past eight years, the Festival has raised more than $500,000 to support CAP in its efforts to foster and develop skills for a “healthier lifestyleapostrophe as a deterrent to negative behavior such as alcohol, other drug use and violent behavior.

•Runners Roost at 1685 S. Colorado Boulevard and 6554 S. Parker Road
•Running Wild at 1970 E. County Line Road

Entry fees are $15 for children 17 and younger and seniors 60+ prior to Race day and $20 on Race day; $27 for adults prior to Race day, and rise to $35 for those registering at the event. A special family 4-pack is available for $75, and includes registrations for two adults and two children. The family 4-pack is $100 on the day of the race. All registrants will receive a 2009 FASB Fitness Festival T-shirt, as well as admittance into the post party featuring free food, live entertainment, a silent auction and giveaways. Should participants wish to partake of the after party food sampling only, the entry fee is $10.
